Terms and Conditions of Service

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully. They govern your use of the services provided by Expert Discount Cleaners (including in-store, delivery, and use of the LaundryCat App and Loyalty Program).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the services of Expert Discount Cleaners, including placing an order, dropping off garments, utilizing the Loyalty Program, or accessing our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not use our services.

2. Service Description

Expert Discount Cleaners provides professional dry cleaning, laundry (wash & fold), and alteration services for personal and household items.

  • Same-Day/Next-Day Service: While we strive to meet all deadlines, service times are estimates. We are not liable for any delays.
  • Delivery Service: Delivery times are estimates. We are not responsible for garments lost or damaged after they are dropped off at the designated delivery location (e.g., front porch, concierge desk) chosen by the customer.

3. Payment and Discounts

  • Payment: All services must be paid for in full prior to pickup or delivery. We accept cash, credit cards, and payments via the Loyalty Program/App.
  • Discounts: Customers are responsible for requesting the appropriate discount (e.g., senior, military, police, fire, medical personnel discounts) at the time of order placement. Discounts cannot be retroactively applied once the order is processed.
  • Loyalty Program: Enrollment in our loyalty program (including the LaundryCat App) is subject to these Terms and any specific rules posted regarding point accumulation, redemption, and expiration. Program details may change without prior notice.

4. Customer Responsibilities

  • Check Pockets: You are responsible for checking all garment pockets before submitting items for cleaning. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged during the cleaning process that were left in pockets.
  • Garment Condition: You are responsible for informing us of any special cleaning instructions, pre-existing damage, or stains that require attention. We clean garments according to the care label instructions provided by the manufacturer.
  • Missing Tags: If a garment lacks a care label, we will proceed with what we believe is the most appropriate cleaning method, and you agree that we are not liable for any resulting damage.

5. Limitation of Liability

Our liability for any lost or damaged garments is limited by industry standards.

  • Damage: We exercise the utmost care in cleaning and processing garments entrusted to us. However, we are not responsible for:
    • Damage resulting from defects or inherent weaknesses in the textile, such as tears, color bleeding, or shrinking.
    • Damage to ornamental items (beads, sequins, buckles, trim) not designed to withstand the cleaning process.
    • Any damage caused by items left in pockets (e.g., pens, lipstick).
  • Loss: In the rare event a garment is lost, our liability shall not exceed ten (10) times the charge for cleaning that item, regardless of the item’s original cost or fair market value, unless otherwise mandated by state law. All claims for loss must be reported within five (5) days of receiving the cleaned garment.

6. Claims and Resolutions

  • Inspection and Claims: You must inspect your cleaned garments immediately upon return. Any claims regarding dissatisfaction with cleaning quality or potential damage must be reported within 48 hours of pickup or delivery.
  • Remedy: For valid claims, we will re-clean the garment free of charge. If damage or loss is proven to be our fault, compensation will be subject to Section 5.
  • Unclaimed Items: Garments left unclaimed for more than 30 days after the promised pickup date may be donated or disposed of in accordance with applicable local regulations.

7. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Sacramento County, California.
